Fed: Crean trying to keep all interests on side - Downer
Foreign Minister ALEXANDER DOWNER says the Opposition Leader is treading dangerouslyby trying to keep all interests on side in his stance on Iraq.
Labor leader SIMON CREAN addressed an anti-war rally in Brisbane yesterday and hasconsistently said Labor will only back military action in Iraq if it's sanctioned by theUnited Nations.
But Mr DOWNER's told Sydney radio 2UE that Mr CREAN is walking both sides of the street, and has to be clear on what his policy is.
He says Mr CREAN's position is that he supports war with a UN endorsement, but he'salso said if a UN Security Council resolution is vetoed by one or two countries, he couldsupport war in those circumstances as well.
Mr DOWNER says Mr CREAN is trying to keep all interests happy.
