ENGEL has sold five moulding machines to Phillips Plastics, of Wrexham, which specialises in multi-shot high precision back-lit components. Three of the machines are equipped with multi-injection units, and one, a 500 tonne unit believed to be the biggest horizontal two colour machine in the UK, is equipped with a robot with a 10 m long main beam. The 25 and 80 tonne machines are of Engel's tie-bar-less design, which is liked by Phillips for the large platen area and easy access to the tool.
