One of the eight Capital Region health professionals named on Aug. 30 as being in default on a student loan, Vladimir Cubano, has received a letter of apology from the federal government acknowledging that his name shouldn't have been on the list.
Cubano, 38, a dentist practicing in Colonie, was one of 5,000 health professionals nationwide listed by the Health Resources and Services Administration for having not paid back their student loans. Cubano, who graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1984, was said to have failed to pay back $1,408.82.
