QLD: Tenders announced for Brisbane tunnel
Brisbane's Northern Link tunnel is one step closer to being built .. with the City
Council short-listing three tenders.
The five-kilometre tunnel is scheduled to open in 2014 .. linking the Western Freeway
to the Inner City Bypass west of the CBD.
Brisbane Lord Mayor CAMPBELL NEWMAN says Northern Direct .. Transcity .. and the Leighton
Baulderstone Razel Joint Venture .. have been short-listed to build and operate the tunnel.
Construction's due to start later next year.
